EYE BAGS PROGRAMME
Having baggy under eyes is a common complaint. To treat eye bags, we first need to know what causes them.

Eye bags are usually caused by the prolapse of fats from the area under the eyes. As we get older, the structures supporting the fats there weaken and stretch. These structures include muscles and ligaments under the eyes.

Appearance of eye bags can also be a result of water retention and swelling. Certain health conditions, like severe heart or kidney disease, or medications can cause water retention, giving a puffy appearance under the eyes. Allergies can also cause swelling in the area.

Eye bags are generally treated with surgery. However, if you are not keen to go under the knife, or experience the associated downtime, Astute has minimally invasive options for treating eye bags.

STEP 1 - HIGH INTENSITY FOCUSED ULTRASOUND
Patients start the programme with a HIFU. This will tighten the deeper layers of the periorbital areas, such as the underlying fat and muscles. This will be done as a first step to provide a good foundation for future treatments. A repeat treatment will be done 3 months later for better and longer lasting results.
STEP 2 - VENUS LEGACY
The second step of the treatment will commence 2 weeks after the HIFU. The Venus Legacy will be done for the periorbital area. It will utilise radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin and the superficial fat layer to build upon the progress from the first treatment. This will be done once a month.
STEP 3 - ENDYMED INTENSIF
The Endymed Intensif will be done 2 weeks after the Venus Legacy treatment and can be done monthly. It will utilise microneedles to transmit radio frequency the medium and deep layers of the periorbital region, tightening the area even more. This will also be done once a month. It will be alternated with Venus Legacy treatments every fortnight.
