Which Type of Fillers is Reversible?
Only hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, like Restylane, can be dissolved. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring acid in your skin. It gives your skin volume and keeps it hydrated. How Long Does The
Effect Last?
Like your own natural hyaluronic acid, these fillers are naturally broken down by your body over time. The effect of this Dermal Fillers can last between 4 to 6 months, or even longer with proper rest, exercise and a healthy diet. Your doctor will advise you on when you should repeat the procedure to maintain the effects of the treatment.
How Is The Procedure Different From Normal Fillers?
The facial dermal fillers are usually deposited into your skin using tiny injections. This procedure will be made comfortable with the use of topical numbing cream. At Astute Medical Centre, we perform a novel injection technique which will allow the doctors to lift your skin maximally with minimal injections.
Is The Procedure Safe?
The procedure is very safe, as the fillers are 99% identical to your skin’s own hyaluronic acid. Mild injection related reactions such as pin-prick marks and redness sometimes occur, but will usually disappear spontaneously the following day and can be concealed by makeup. Occasionally, mild bruising may occur, but this will resolve in a few days.
Is There Any Downtime?
There is minimal downtime involved. You can apply makeup immediately after and continue with normal activities right after the procedure. Our doctor will first examine your face thoroughly to tailor the treatment to your needs. Topical cream will be applied to ensure maximal comfort before our doctor administer the filler into your skin. The whole procedure is very quick – it takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
What Can I Expect After The Treatment?
The filler starts to work straight away to lift your skin naturally. Instantly, you will notice that your wrinkles have improved and that your face is more contoured and lifted. These improvements continue over time as the filler further stimulates more collagen production. After 2 to 3 weeks, you will find that your skin is firmer with better texture, more hydrated, smoother, and more elastic.
