What is Subcision Collagen Fillers?
Subcision is a clinical procedure designed to treat depressed acne scars. It is performed by our doctors that involves using a specialised micro-needle to release the tough, fibrous bands beneath the scar tissue that is pulling the surface downward.
By breaking these underlying tethers, the depressed skin is freed to lift, which helps to visibly reduce the depth and shadow of the scar. To support this lifting effect and prevent the fibrous bands from reattaching, a collagen-stimulating filler is often introduced into the treated area.

Deep acne scars, such as rolling or boxcar scars, are often anchored down by tough, fibrous bands beneath the surface of the skin. Subcision effectively releases the tension and allows for the depressed skin to lift back towards its natural position.
By adding dermal filler, it helps to immediately support the newly freed skin, positioning as a structural cushion into the pocket created by the subcision. This instantly plumps the indentation and, crucially, acts as a physical barrier that prevents the severed fibrous bands from reattaching to the skin as they heal.
